Spikes are in a "V" pattern on the chest piece and are also on the back straps. The leash ring is at the back of the back center strap. The matching leash (sold separately) is 4 feet long and 1/2 inch wide.
The leather may be a little stiff at first, but it softens quickly. These fun harnesses are made from natural leather so there may be some variations.
